I'm trying to set different icons (application icons) on different desktops on my laptop screen. But whatever icon I keep on desktop 1 it is getting replicated in desktop 2.

Hi Nakshi, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Do you mean placing different desktop icons per virtual desktop? If so, Windows 11 doesn't natively support this, unfortunately. However, this is possible with the help of a third-party application. If you want to do this, here's what I've been using for a while now.

This app should provide you 4 virtual desktops. Each desktop can have separate desktop icons by right-clicking on the app in the system tray > Settings > Switching Desktops > Check "Customize desktop icons" > Advanced > Select "Create a separate folder for each desktop".
