Windows 11 Home with Windows 11 Pro Hyper-V Licensing

I currently have a Microsoft Surface that came with Windows 11 Home, and I have setup a Hyper-V Virtual Machine on it with Windows 11 Pro so I can VP into our work domain, and login remotely to my office PC. What is the most cost effect way to accomplish this; should I purchase a new Windows 11 Pro License for my Hyper-V VM, or should I upgrade my Windows 11 Home License on the Surface to Windows 11 Pro?

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

A Windows licence is only valid for one PC at a time, also each VM also requires a separate Windows licence, rather than running a VM for Windows Pro and purchasing a licence for that, the most cost effective method would be to click the 'Go to the Store' option in Windows 10 Home in the activation window in the Settings app and purchase the half price Pro upgrade licence available there.
