Hi,

I have an HP pavilion m6 notebook and I tried to install intel drivers on my PC. Every time I would do this, the installer would give me an error saying the drivers could not be found. I tried using device manager to install the right drivers, but every time I return to the installer, it gives me the same error. I also tried searching for the correct drivers on the hp site, but of course there was no support for my pc.

    Hi ChrisJulK.

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

You are getting an error while reinstalling the Intel driver. The error code you gave usually means that the Intel driver did not successfully find the Intel hardware on your computer. And I tried searching for the computer model you gave, and I found that this computer model mainly uses AMD CPUs and motherboards.

Before fixing the Intel driver not installing, you need to check if your computer is using AMD or Intel CPU, you can open the settings by “win + i”. Click on “System”, move to the bottom and find “System Information”, click on it and you will see your processor model. If it is AMD, then of course you can't use Intel driver installer, you need to visit AMD official website to download similar driver installer.

If your computer is indeed Intel, you can check whether the hardware you need to update the driver is “Integrated graphics, wireless card, Bluetooth, wired network adapter, Intel memory”, other devices may not be covered by this program. And Intel clearly indicates under the driver “Your components are obsolete. Your component is discontinued or unsupported.” Both of these situations will not recognize the driver properly.

If your hardware is indeed supported, then you can try to find the product for which you need to install the driver on Intel's website, access its driver interface directly, and install the driver for the corresponding model directly. This is an alternative to the automatic installer not working. Or you can try to install the driver using Windows Device Manager:

    (1) First, keep your hardware connected. Press and hold “Win + R” at the same time and type “devmgmt.msc” in the text box that appears, then click “OK”. You will open the Device Manager.

    (2) Find the device you need to update the driver for, right-click on it and select “Properties”.

    (3) In the new window, select “Drivers”, find “Update Driver” and click it to keep the driver up-to-date.

Hope you can install your driver normally.

    Best Regards,
