Can secure boot be disabled after Windows 11 installation and still allow for booting into Windows 11?

Hello,

I have gotten the desire to dual boot my PC with a Linux distro, however, needing it to be secure boot compatable is limiting my options and requires more work to make functional. Could I disable secure boot in my BIOS and still be able to load Windows 11 when needed? Or does it require secure boot to be always on after installation for the OS to load?

Thank you.

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

Yes, you can boot Windows if Secure Boot is disabled, but you may have problems with the bitlocker system and TPM and Virtualization in Hyper-V.

If you already have a Bitlocker system configured with Secure boot turned off, you can request a code to unlock, the TPM may report the error because Secure boot is turned off, but it does not prevent you from using Windows, but Hyper-V VMP Secure Virtualization System it may not work.

    Hope this helps.
