for a while all my folder files have been white and ive searched it up and used every method (deleting image cache, ect.) but it still hasnt been fixed. a few months ago i was messing around with themes and downloaded an app from the microsoft store that changed the folder icons then i deleted the app thinking it would go back to normal but now theyre white and unfixable. (i also cannot find the app making me a little anxious) its only my folder icons that are having this issue, everything else is fine. remedies?

    Hi namo7591.

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

You have downloaded an application and deleted it, and then all the icons of your folder have become blank. Don't worry, this is a very simple problem to solve, you just need to follow the steps below:

    1. Press “Win + i” at the same time to open “Settings”. Select “Personalization” - “Theme” - “Related Settings” - “Desktop Icon Settings”.
    2. Disable “Allow themes to change desktop icons (L)” in the lower left corner.
    3. On the same page, select the folder with your username, then click “Restore Defaults (S)” and then “Apply (A)”.
    4. Right-click on any folder, select “Properties”, and choose “Customize” in the upper menu bar.
    5. Find the “Change Icon” button and click it. Then click “restore default” and finally don't forget to click “apply” to save the settings.
    6. Turn off your computer and restart it to see if the icons are restored.

If the icon is not restored, I hope you can explain the purpose of the application you downloaded in your reply. Some special applications may change other settings of your computer, and it may be helpful to know about them to solve the problem. Good luck with restoring your folder icons.

    Best Regards,
