Dear Jay Silvereyes,
Welcome to the Microsoft Community
The issue you're experiencing with your mobile hotspot on your Windows 11 laptop could be caused by a variety of factors, including network settings, driver issues, or temporary system glitches.
Before considering a factory reset, let's go through a series of troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the problem.
Restart Networking Services
Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
Expand Network adapters.
Right-click your wireless network adapter and select Disable device. Wait a few seconds and then select Enable device.
Restart Network Services:
Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
Find the following services, and restart each one by right-clicking and selecting Restart:
Network Connections
Windows Event Log
WWAN AutoConfig
Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
Remote Access Connection Manager
Reset Network Settings
Go to Settings (Win + I) > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.
Scroll down and click Network reset.
Follow the prompts to reset your network settings and restart your computer.
Update Network Drivers
Visit the manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for your network adapter.
Flush DNS and Reset WIN Sock:
Open Command Prompt as Administrator (Win + X, then select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin)).
Execute the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
Restart your computer.
If the problem persists after trying all these troubleshooting methods, there might be a deeper system issue that could warrant a more extensive look by a professional. A factory reset should be considered as a last resort and only if no other solutions work.
Please let me know if these steps help resolve your issue or if you need further assistance.
