Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

McAfee is very hard to fully remove from Windows, the normal uninstaller does not completely remove it.

Go to the McAfee website, they provide the official McAfee Removal Tool (MCPR) and use that utility to remove all trace of McAfee from your PC.

This method is not working for me. Every time I initiate the uninstall, McAfee prevents it with a pop-up to keep it at a discount. There's no way to close this or get past it, so the uninstall never completes.

    Hello,

Please go to Control Panel > Uninstall a program, and then scroll down to where you see "McAfee". You can then select the app and at the top, it should say something like "Uninstall". Press that, and then you can uninstall McAfee from your computer.

Let me know how this goes.

If you are planning to completely remove the McAfee program and no longer use it then here is the process you should follow.

    Cancel the Auto Renewal

    • Open the McAfee app or sign in to your account on a browser.
    • After that, search for a tile or section labeled "Manage Renewals" or "Subscriptions".
    • Under the "Manage Renewals" or "Subscriptions" section, look for the option to cancel auto-renewal.
    • Select the "Turn off" or "End auto renewal" option, depending on the interface.
    • If any other prompts appear on the screen then confirm your action.

In addition, it would be also good if you remove your credit card details from your account.

    Removing the program

    • From the taskbar on your Windows 11 device select the Windows Start button.
    • Then, you need to click on the Programs and Features option.
    • Also, you can select the Add or Remove Programs.
    • Now, look for your McAfee program and then right-click on it.
    • Choose the Uninstall option and then follow the further prompts to complete the process.
    • When the uninstallation is successful, restart your computer.

    If this traditional method is unable to remove the McAfee program from your device then you can use the McAfee app. Here is how;

    • From the McAfee official website download the McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool (MCPR) on your PC.
    • After opening the program choose the correct option to move forward.
    • And when you are on the McAfee Software Removal screen select Next and choose Agree to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA)
    • Then complete the Security Validation by entering the correct characters.
    • Now, wait for the tool to complete; it usually takes 20 minutes.
    • When the removal process is successful, restart your device.
