How do I disable Win11 Focus assist (aka Quiet Hours)?

I am running Windows 11 Pro on a Dell laptop.

This one is baffling

I tried using the suggestions I found with Google.

A. Steps to disable Focus assist

  1. Select the Action Center icon on the taskbar
  2. Select Focus assist
  3. Select Off

and

B. Selecting Start > Settings > System > Focus

****

Yet something seemingly so easy has been an adventure. I CANNOT REMOVE THE DISPLAY IN THE RED BOX OF MY SCREEN SHOT.

Note: The Notification area in the lower right corner at the far end of the taskbar.

Footnote: The Windows 10 steps are different (easier).

Reminds me of Windows 10 Paint which is also simpler (smile).

    Hello, sdmike1974

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your feedback. I tested the issue you mentioned and it is indeed impossible to remove it at this time. However, in older versions of Windows 11 there seems to be a close button, and I'm using both versions 24H2 and 23H2 this button has disappeared and the registry changes don't work. This is by design, you can Win+F to feed back on this issue and I will put this through the feedback channels as well.

I hope my explanation makes sense. I look forward to your feedback.

    Best Regards,

I am also using Windows 11 Pro version 24H2.

    Thank you for your input.

I will try uncharted waters and post to Feedback at Win+F.

It looks like I may have misinterpreted, Windows Update has changed the location of the clock icon, you can refer to the following link:

It appears Windows 11 users can disable Quiet Hours Using Group Policy Editor -- effectively allowing notifications to occur without being blocked during so-called 'Quiet Hours'.

Alternatively, you can use Regedit to make a modification to the Registry.

It even explains the steps if your device is using Windows 11 Home as opposed to Windows Pro and Enterprise editions.

Both approaches are described in this article from March 2023.

FWIW, there is a newer article from January 8, 2025.

Caveat: I found the older article had a better description of the suggested Registry modification.

Finally, there appears no way to eliminate the graphic display from my OP that shows the FOCUS info.

    To wit:
