Windows 11 "some of these settings are managed by your organisation"

Recently updated to windows 11 and i noticed that some settings have this notification on top and that some settings are locked

Edition Windows 11 Home

Version 22H2

Installed on ‎01-‎03-‎2023

OS build 22621.1344

Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22639.1000.0

I have checked if there are any accounts other than mine, but there are none except for mine (Administrator)
Saw that some got it fixed by removing some registry keys and restarting, but that has not worked for me.

Edit: Solved by reinstalling Windows 11 using an ISO

Edit 2: It seems that the cause of this is the optional update for Windows 11 (KB502213)
The issue appears when I update to the optional update for Windows 11 (KB502213). After uninstalling the update, the issue disappears

    Hi Edvard,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you do not have a 3rd party anti-virus installed on your PC and no work or school account is linked to your PC perhaps for software installation, please try this fix:

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd

On the resulting list, right click Command Prompt and select 'run as Administrator'

Paste each of these commands into Command one at a time and press Enter, wait for each command to complete, before running the next command, if you receive an error on any command, ignore that and continue to the next command.

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender" /v DisableAntiSpyware

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost" /f

    reg delete "HKCU\Software\Policies" /f

    reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Policies" /f

Then, close Command Prompt and restart (not shut down) your PC.

Its absolutely ridiculous that the user must go through hoops like this when its absolutely CLEAR that it is a BUG in Windows 11/Online User Accounts, because this has been going on for YEARS now.

Its 2025 and this problem is still there on 24H2 on a PC that NEVER had ANY other antivirus or security solution installed and has undergone full OS reinstalls and major version changes in that time period

The account is a private consumer home PC on Windows 11 Professional, ADMINISTRATOR and its a Live Account (not local) requiring sign in

It is NOT and NEVER has been a Work or SChool Profile active on this machine and its not connected to a Domain Controller remotely or anything.

I have seen this over multiple generations of the OS starting with 22H

I have this issue as well. Reinstalling is not an option for me just to fix my lock screen picture, but this is such a stupid problem to have... Come on Microsoft, lets get a fix for this. I do not have kb502213 installed.

    Hi Edvard,

I share the same concern—I'm encountering an issue with turning off the location for "Find My Device." Unfortunately, I'm unable to do so due to the message "Managed By Your Organization." I hope this gets resolved through future updates.

I downloaded the optional update for Windows 11 (KB502213), and the issue reappeared. I guess that is where the issue came from.
