Windows Update keeps trying to install KB5048239 2024-11 Security update Windows 10 V22H2 for x64 based systems

Windows Update shows 0% installing and then reverts to "Your up to date" screen. I have restarted and powered my machine down but that didn't help.

There are no messages displayed about the update failing to install or installation successful. Every time that Windows Update looks for updates, this scenario plays out again.

    Gary,

Several discussions on this forum address this same issue. Microsoft has released a patch in a recent Windows update that should automatically fix it.

Specifically, Update KB5050411 (Windows Recovery Environment update for Windows 10, versions 21H2 and 22H2), released on January 14, 2025, may resolve the problem.

Please check for and install any available Windows updates to see if this resolves the issue for you.

It is ABSOLUTELY a Microsoft bug/goof up.

They should have had this fixed already, or at least withdrawn the KB5048239 update from the Windows Update queue.

Come ON already Microsoft, FIX IT!!!

    Hi,

sounds like another microsoft issue, messed up again.

Probably have to wait until they get round to fixing it, until then we just have to suffer.

I also have this problem on a HP Z420 workstation running Windows 10.
