Internet keeps disconnecting intermittently (rang ISP and they said no problems on their end)

I've recently (in the past couple of weeks) ran into an issue where my computer keeps "disconnecting" from the internet (or so it seems) for a second or so.

Key things to mention

  • Sometimes I can't load web pages but if I try again the next second it works
  • I cannot connect to any online game whatsoever. I get network connection, disconnected, cannot connect, and other errors. This is how I know it is not game specific
  • I know that it is disconnecting frequently as I am a steam user, and the "x is playing y" notifications would pop up all at the same time every minute before I disabled them. I would also see "no connection" on steam and then it would work again the next second
  • This issue is only on my device, I am not having issues with PlayStation or mobile phone.

Things I have done to try and fix this issue -

  • Update and reinstall any drivers, WIFI driver up to date
  • Rang ISP (twice) and they said no issues
  • Quadruple checked that no firewall or antivirus is blocking anything
  • Full factory reset, clean file wipe, and the issue persists.

Specifications - ( I don't know what's relevant and what isn't)

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz
Video Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU
Video Card #2 Intel(R) UHD Graphics
Operating System Windows 11
RAM 16 GB
Software
DirectX 11.0
.NET 4.8
Internet Explorer 11.1882.26100.0
Chrome 0.0
Thank you in advance!

To access your router you must type the router's IP address into the browser, then log in with your username and password and then follow the instructions I have already given you previously.

Does your computer have the ability to connect to the internet via a network cable?

How do I log in to my router? I took some screenshots of options in my router's app (Eero) Thanks for your reply also. This issue has been annoying me for a while now and just want it sorted :)

Log in to your router, go to the WiFi settings page and disable the Band Steering option, then assign different names to the 2 WiFi bands 2.4 and 5 GHz, then connect with your laptop first to the 2.4 GHz network and then to the 5 GHz network and check if the WiFi connection remains stable for both networks or if you still experience disconnections.

    Thank you for your response!

Does this happen even if you connect via network cable?

    1. Are your router and PC in the same room or are they in different rooms or on different floors of your house?
    2. Is the name of your WiFi network (SSID) the same for all WiFi bands or do the networks have different names or SSIDs for each band?
    3. Are you connecting directly to the router's WiFi network or are you using WiFi repeaters or range extenders?

Specify the exact model of your computer or go to Start, type msinfo and attach a screenshot of the System Information page.

Also, specify the exact model of your network card or go to Device Manager expand network adapters and post the screenshot.

I have not tried connecting with a cable!

    1. Yes they are in the same room
    2. The SSID is the same for all WiFi bands
    3. Connected directly to the routers WiFi network

    TIA!
