Do I need to update to windows 11 24h2?

Hi.
I have a update icon in the taskbar of my PC, and I don't know if its for the 24H2 update. Reddit users said (on r/ROGALLY) that IT is mandatory. Is this true?

If so, do you think I need to uninstall anything?

    If your current Windows 11 version is 23H2, it is not mandatory to install 24H2 because your version will reach end of service in November 2025. Wait for it to be offered in Windows Update and you don't need to uninstall anything.

    Hello,

    You're not required to install 24H2.

    It definitely isn't mandatory and if you wouldn't like to upgrade, you don't have to.

    Yet, it pushed it on me. I was shutting down my system, and it told me I could restart or shut down, but either way the update was being applied. I don't understand why people are saying this is optional, because it definitely was not for me.

    Now my computer runs like ****.

    Optional. As if.

    Hello,

    When you click the update icon, it shouldn't statt automatically installing 24H2.

    You will have to manually go in there and click download and install.

    If you see a blue update icon, that means an update is available to you and Windows wants you to contemplate whether you would like to install it or not.
