The other day I discovered that an IntelNUC was actually defective. I removed the RAMM and the SSD and sent it to ASUS for action under their warranty protocal. They decided to replace the computer rather than try to fix it. I understand that I need to delete the defective computer from my account; but, how do I transfer/activate my Win10 Pro to the new computer. They sent an email today that the new computer has been shipped.

Do not remove the old device from your account online.

When the new device arrives, Windows Pro must be installed on it, then, on the activation window in the Settings app, click the Troubleshoot button, you will get an option to select 'I changed my hardware', select that option, and then select the old PC, that will move the licence from the old PC to the new PC.

I purchased four full retail Win10 Pro DVDs from a computer store. The product keys are on the DVD sleeve but which one goes to which computer is something I never recorded. With two of my computers, I had to do a complete reset and installation and activation of Win10 Pro was not a problem through my Microsoft accout. I just do not know how to handle this with a new computer that is replacing a defective one.

That sounds easy enough. If it does not work when the new computer arrives I will let you know.

    Thank you for your courtesies!

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Do not remove the old device from your account online.

Where did you get your Windows 10 Pro licence was that pre-installed on the PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer, and if so, do you have the product key?
