Hello, my name is Mario, and I would be happy to assist you with your issue.
I’m sorry for what happened!
To try to solve the issue, I suggest you follow the steps below:
Check that the camera is not disabled:
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to Privacy and security > Camera and check that access to the camera is enabled.
Check that Windows detects the camera:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Imaging Devices or Cameras category.
- See if the camera appears in the list. If it has an alert icon, it could be a driver problem.
Update or reinstall the drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the camera and select Update driver > Search for drivers automatically.
- If that doesn't work, right-click and select Uninstall device and restart your computer. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Try using the camera in another application:
- Open Windows Camera (Win + S and type “Camera”).
- Test it in another app like Skype or Microsoft Teams.
- If it works in one app and not in another, it could be a permissions problem or a problem with the app itself.
Disable the antivirus temporarily:
- Some antiviruses block the camera for privacy reasons. Try disabling the antivirus temporarily and see if the camera works again.
Check the camera's activation button:
- Some laptops have a function key (F1 to F12) that activates/deactivates the camera. Check for a shortcut such as Fn + F8 (or another key with the camera icon).
Test with an external webcam:
- If possible, connect a USB webcam to see if it works. If the external one works and the internal one doesn't, it could be a physical problem with the laptop's camera.
Please carry out the tests and get back to us to let us know if the issue has been resolved.
Best regards,
Mario B.
