Glitches with screen, flickering, blur screen

I have been facing this issue since a year probably, no matter what I do, reset my PC, reinstall, update, rollback graphic updates (from official sites and the ones that are compatible), this stuff happens sometimes when I run some heavy game on my PC.

Actually, what happens is, my screen flickers after 2-3 seconds continuously. And blurs the whole screen, a hazy texture. Its not majorly blur, but more like 2 screens, with a horizontal offset of 1-2 pixels causing the blurring. And the offset keeps on changing 1-2 pixels.

    Hi Anuj SK

This is not hardware accelerated GPU scheduling, but the option does turn on/off here

The absence of this option may be due to the fact that your graphics card does not support this feature

How is your issue progressing now?

    Best wishes

    Thanks for replying,

I searched in the Advanced Display Settings option, but there was nothing related to Hardware acceleration,

so I searched it in settings, and this got highlighted:

    Image

I wonder if its the same. And also, I will try the HDMI test the next time this happens, this issue was dormant for about some weeks until it started again about few days ago

    Thanks for the reply

Sorry I wasn't home for the past few days,

And Also, it hasn't happened since,

The last thing I remember doing was just updating my graphics driver (Although this was the thing that had started it)

But it doesn't mean that the Issue is gone, it may be dormant now, but can trigger at any time perhaps.

I suppose then the thread ends? For now at least

    Thanks for all the help!

    Hi Anuj SK

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community

Understanding the flickering and blurring of your computer's display

Disable Hardware Acceleration: In some cases, hardware acceleration may cause this problem!

Right click on the desktop and select “Display Settings”.

Once in the settings, click on “Advanced Display Settings” and check if there is an option for “Hardware Acceleration”, if so, turn it off.

    Test with another monitor

Try to connect another monitor or TV.

If the display of the external device is normal, you can determine the original screen hardware failure.

    Cable/Interface Test

Use a new HDMI/DP cable (high quality cable with shielding is recommended)

Try different interfaces (e.g. switch from HDMI to DP port)

Check the interface for oxidation/physical damage

You mentioned that the problem occurs when running large games, you can try to stress test the graphics card to troubleshoot the card itself

Contact me if you need anything else.

    Best wishes
