How to fix audio problem?

After updating my windows 11 in my laptop, I unfortunately had to factory reset my computer as I was unable to connect my monitor to the laptop. The factory reset did fix the issue with my monitor. However, now I have a problem with my audio. Whenever I try to use my audio for a YouTube video, zoom meeting, videogames or anything that has audio, it momentarily stops playing the audio but continues to play the video, and the only way to get my audio back is to either wait about 30 seconds (which is how long the audio works, after the 30 second mark it shuts off) or to toggle the spatial sound between off and "windows sonic for headphone." The cycle of toggling never ends too.

I have tried disabling all other audio outputs & inputs and just enable my headphones and that didn't work.

Tried deleting/updating sound drivers and it didn't work

Updated my windows and nothing changed

Troubleshooting does nothing and the live chat support doesn't work

Restarting the computer doesn't help either

Do I just have to do another factory reset at this point? Been looking around for 3 days for answer but nothing works.

Any help will be appreciated!

    Hello Bryan,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community and I'll be glad to assist you today.

I am sorry that you are experiencing this problem.

Have you tried downloading and installing the latest audio drivers from your PC manufacturer's website to check if it resolves the issue?

    • Go to your PC manufacturer's website.

    • Input your computer serial number.

    • Download the latest audio drivers from the drivers & downloads section.

    • Install the drivers and restart your computer.

If you are having trouble finding the audio drivers for your PC model, type msinfo in the search bar on the taskbar and click enter.

Post a screenshot of the resulting dialog box.

Let us know how it goes.

So that got fixed, but now I have another problem, my microphone is not working now.

Sound recorder says no audio input source when the only enabled input device I have is my microphone.

Uninstalled driver and reinstalled didn't work

privacy settings are not the problem either.

    trouble shooting doesn't help.

    Edit: *****FIXED*******

I fixed it! I went and downloaded my manufacturer's driver and that helped with my computer audio but not my headphones. Since that didn't work, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling my headphones intel audio driver and restarting my computer, that is what fixed it, even thought I had done that like 2 times already.

So glad this is over, thanks for the help!
