That's fine. I am already up-to date and I have AMD Radeon drivers. I have reinstalled Windows more than 5 times since this post I think and I am still having this issue. I think I already have the dimming, but I don't really notice it as the screen does very slightly change brightness like very quickly from switching from a light screen to a dark one. I can't really tell. Thanks though!
Auto-brightness in Windows 11
I have a laptop running Windows 11. Sometimes it will automatically dim the screen which I don't want as I want the screen to be always bright (whether it's plugged in or on battery). In Windows SETTINGS > BRIGHTNESS there is no option to control auto-brightness, though I have found websites that instruct differently. Likewise, I can't see anything in POWER SETTINGS to change auto-brightness.
What do I need to do to stop my laptop automatically dimming the screen?
Web article that makes reference to functions that aren't on my version of Windows 11: How to Turn Off Auto Brightness in Windows 11 (windowsloop.com)
What I see in my settings:
Windows for home | Windows 11 | Settings

2025-02-05T20:08:17+00:00 Sorry, i confused this post with another.
I'd suggest contacting HP for BIOS update as microsoft will not address any issues like those. Nvidia driver rollback could also work as sometimes the newer drivers focus on newer graphic cards and kind of 'forget' the older ones..
