Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.
I am very sorry to learn that you are unable to log in to Whatsapp, according to the screenshot, this is a network issue, this does not mean that there is a problem with your network, but rather it tells you that the current network environment is abnormal and you are unable to connect to the Whatsapp server.
Here are some general network scenarios.
Setting up the security protocol
- Click windows+R and type inetcpl.cpl to open the Internet options.
- Click Advanced and check “Use SSL 3.0”, “Use TLS 1.0”, “Use TLS 1.1”, “Use TLS 1.2 Use TLS 1.3”.
- Reboot the computer after application to see if the problem can be solved.
Changing DNS
- Click windows+R and type ncpa.cpl. 2.
- Click the name of the network you are currently connected to, open the network status window, click Properties, and double click Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) in the network properties window. 3.
- Manually set the DNS server to “4.2.2.1” and “4.2.2.2”, and restart the computer to see if the problem can be solved.
Reset the network
- Search for CMD, open it and find the command prompt (, run it in administrator) mode.
- In the command box that pops up, enter the following commands (enter the next one after each line has finished running)
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset
netsh winhttp reset proxy
- Restart the computer to see if the problem can be solved.
Reset Proxy Server Settings
- Click windows+R and type inetcpl.cpl.
- Open the Internet option, click Connect, click LAN Settings.
- Check whether the Proxy Server column is checked, if so, please uncheck it and click OK.
- Press Win+X to enter Device Manager - check the network card options, whether it contains virtual network cards such as Kaspersky VPN, right-click to uninstall them.
- Remove possible three-way antivirus software, they will encrypt your network packets, resulting in the inability to connect to Whatsapp in some cases.
Restart your computer after completion and see if the problem can be solved.
Open Network and Sharing Center:
Right-click the network icon on the taskbar and select “Open Network and Internet Settings”.
In the settings window, select “Network and Sharing Center”.
Change the adapter settings:
In the left menu, click “Change Adapter Settings”.
Select the network adapter:
Locate the network adapter you are using (e.g., Wi-Fi or Ethernet), right-click it and select Properties.
Disable IPv6:
In the “This connection uses the following” list, find “Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6)”.
Uncheck the option and click “OK”.
V. Cleaning up the HOST
Locate the following path
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc.
Delete the HOST file and restart the computer.
Lastly, I had a similar problem to yours and then I tried installing a free VPN software and the problem suddenly disappeared, so you can look for a VPN software from the web to test it.
Looking forward to your further reply.
Best Wish

2025-01-15T07:21:34+00:00 hi does anyone have any other suggestions. Tried all of this except for the VPN and it just doesn't work. some of the options I found online were temporary fixes but then again after a few days the whatsapp wouldn't connect.
Also many times when I am able to link the whatsapp, messages from my laptop app wont reflect on my phone and vice versa
