Microsoft Store Apps keep signing out if closed? How to fix?

I recently started using the Microsoft store for my main apps such as Facebook, reddit, discord etc. Anytime I close out put my computer to sleep or off. Then come back the same day or next. It will be logged out. I tried doing research about it but the only troubleshooting steps provided was create a new account. But there is no way I am doing that because I already checked, and my account is signed in and it syncs.

**So, is it possible that it has something to do with my Edge beta setting that it connects with the apps?**I appreciate help given.

    Hi Customer,

In computer terms, "the cloud" refers to a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet that store, manage, and process data, rather than relying on local servers or personal computers.

The OneDrive you mentioned is a product that uses "cloud"-based technology.

I tried to test the Discord application distributed by Microsoft Store in Windows 11 24H2.

    • In my test environment I tested two different directions.
    • No cleanup of browser data and cleanup including cookies, passwords, and browsing history browser data.
    • In my testing, the Discord app was unaffected by browser data, and restarting did not directly affect the Discord app's login status.

This leads us to consider the possibility that the files stored on your computer by your application are automatically cleaned up by certain “optimization” and “management” types of software.

If you wish, you can try to build on the initial information and configure a relatively clean device environment, e.g. a clean boot, and then observe further.

Clean Boot starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It can be used to determine whether a background service or program is interfering or causing a problem.

    • These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by-step.
    • Please be careful not to disable any services that may be related to security credentials or security authentication, such as TPM, Security, Credential.
    • If some services are incorrectly disabled, you will experience problems similar to PIN unavailability, resulting in an inability to access the Windows desktop environment.

(Off topic-Hey sorry for late reply had busy day of doctor appointments.)

Thanks so much for getting back to me!
All the social apps are from the official Microsoft store just to be sure I am clear. It's the desktop Microsoft store I attached a quick screenshot of it below. The apps only logged out when I shut the computer down, put it to sleep, exit the app which then its logs out completely. The only question I guess is what do you mean by the cloud? (I have used the computer off and on through my life but now recently started to get more Indepth, so I am always asking to learn more and open to it if the other person is willing to teach if I did a mistake or has more wisdom than me.) If you mean OneDrive I dont use it sadly. I tried to login then save my info to social apps within the app itself I didnt realize you needed onedrive?

Note I just took a quick screenshot of the apps feature from Microsoft store to show what I am using to get the apps

    Hi Customer,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Maybe we need to learn some additional details.

Some application sites host .exe installation files.

Are the applications you experience automatic logout limited to apps from the Microsoft Store?

Or are they limited to the few apps you mentioned?

The options in the images help you automatically back up your account related data.

But if the data on different devices conflicts with the data stored in the cloud, for example, one of the data may be an hour old "version", then strange problems may occur.

Sorry for such a late reply!

I looked at some of the settings you suggested and I attached a couple of screenshots of what I do have turned on. Unless I misunderstand what certain settings do, if one is turned of that I should have on can you let me know? Not all my apps on my desktop I use with my Outlook/Microsoft account. But shouldnt still sync if I am allowing to? For example the Facebook app on Microsoft store always has me logged out even tho I click each time to remember my info.

Hi Customer,   Welcome to Microsoft Community. Thank you for posting your inquiry about the unexpected automatic sign-out issue of Microsoft Store apps.

In my past observations on personal Windows devices, the behavior of Microsoft Edge and Microsoft Store is not directly related.

Of course, your speculation is also a potential direction, because they both use data related to Microsoft accounts.

If you wish, you can temporarily sign out of the Microsoft account itself in Microsoft Edge and observe whether the situation is the same.

Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.

Another possibility to consider is data synchronization based on Microsoft accounts.

Incomplete credential information can cause strange login issues.

Credential Manager lets you view and delete your saved credentials for signing in to websites, connected applications, and networks.

    • To open Credential Manager, type credential manager in the search box on the taskbar and select Credential Manager Control panel.
    • Select Web Credentials or Windows Credentials to access the credentials you want to manage.
    • The credentials associated with the Microsoft account may be prefixed with "MicrosoftAccount:user" or "SSO_POP".  Image

For the new account you mentioned, you can sign in to a different Microsoft account under that account and check whether the situation is the same. The possibility that options involving the power state of the hardware directly affect the credential state of the application is not common, but given the particularity of the problem, options involving the power state may unexpectedly affect the data reading and writing process.

The power state policy may unexpectedly cause incomplete driver/file initialization, resulting in strange problems.

In the system, fast startup is an option that may be related to the power state.

If you want to disable the S4 state(fast startup) in Windows 10, follow these steps.

    • In search box, type powercfg.cpl and press Enter.
    • Select the Choose what the power buttons do link.
    • (Optionally) Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
    • Clear the Turn on fast startup (recommended) check box.
    • Select Save Settings.

If I misunderstand your situation, feel free to correct me and share the information.Best Regards,Kyo.Y - MSFT | Microsoft Community Technical Support
