I think microsoft could lose out again, if they don't start innovating in mobile technology.

Firstly their surface range is phenomenal this includes the duo models. The build quality is amazing.

So why are they avoiding this market.

Small factor pcs are set to become very popular with handheld gaming pcs sales increasing year by year.

Intel now have an impressive range of mobile cpu's so why is it not a "thing" with microsoft ?

Maybe the sales of surface products isn't the best but that is not down to their design, the main problem is their price which is still very high... So come on ms get back on track, if you can take a massive risk with Windows on arm then let's see the same with hardware.. Get with it, get designing now before Apple beat you to it again..

We need a new upto date surface duo, using intel processors at a price point that more people can afford.. and a handheld gaming pc which is possibly already in the pipeline..

Whatever you do Do Not give up with surface.. theyre amazing !

    Hello, لؤي ربيع

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Thank you for your feedback. It's great to see your love and perseverance with Windows Phone. I'd like to provide you with some updates and suggestions regarding the support and usage of Windows Phone.

The current state of Windows Phone

As of 2025, Windows Phone devices and their operating systems (such as Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile) have stopped receiving new feature updates and official support. Microsoft has phased out development and maintenance of Windows Phone over the past few years and is no longer releasing new Windows Phone devices. So while you can still use your existing Windows Phone device, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Operating system updates: Microsoft no longer provides feature updates and security patches for the Windows Phone operating system. This means that if you encounter security vulnerabilities or other issues with your device, you may not be able to get a solution through official channels.

App Support: Due to the low market share of Windows Phone, many app developers have discontinued support for these devices. Some apps may not work properly on your device or updates may no longer be available.

Services and compatibility: Some online services and application protocols may have changed and no longer support Windows Phone devices, resulting in certain features that may not work properly.

    Recommendations and Options

Given these limitations, you may want to consider the following options:

Continue to use Windows Phone: If you really like the Windows Phone operating system and user interface, and your needs are only for basic phone and text messaging features, you can continue to use the device. However, make sure you are concerned about the potential risks associated with the lack of security updates.

Migrate to another platform: If you need stronger security, up-to-date apps and a better user experience, it is recommended that you consider migrating to another smartphone platform, such as iOS (iPhone) or Android, which have a larger market share and continue to receive updates and support.

Whether you choose to continue using Windows Phone or migrate to another platform, be sure to back up your data regularly to prevent data loss. You can use a cloud service such as OneDrive or manually back up to your computer.

Steps to migrate to a new device

If you decide to migrate to a new platform, follow these steps:

Backup data: Use OneDrive or manually back up important data such as contacts, photos, documents, etc. to your computer or cloud service.

If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please feel free to let me know.

I hope my explanation makes sense. I look forward to your feedback.

    Happy new year!!

    Best Regards,

    Aaron| Microsoft Community Support Specialist
