FYI - this issue was fixed for Edge and Chrome for version 135
Is there a fix for choppy stuttering audio Chrome casting on Windows 11?
I have had no problems casting to my Chromecast device on Windows 10. I tried installing Windows 11 about 18 months ago and went back to 10 because of this issue. I work from home and use this a lot. I tried again last week hoping things have been fixed but still the same issue. I have tried a few different Chromecast dongles. Does anyone else have this issue?
I have least problems on Brave browser and the most on Edge. If I do anything on my pc while casting it starts. I have 16 GB or ram.

2024-12-05T22:37:26+00:00 Thank you Zev,
I tried your suggestion regarding graphics acceleration and it didn't work. All of my drivers are up to date. I did try turning off memory saver on Edge and so far it seems to work. Fingers crossed that it continues.
thanks,
Dave

2024-12-04T06:56:55+00:00 Dear customer.
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
In your description, you are experiencing the issue of non-smooth lag while using Chromecast device.
I noticed that you didn't have this issue in Windows 10 and it appeared after upgrading to Windows 11 while you tried different Chromecast dongles. I do understand the frustration and inconvenience of not being able to use Chromecast devices properly in Windows 11 at this time.
Chromecast is a streaming media device from Google that uses Google's own delivery protocol to connect to a TV or monitor via Wi-Fi and receive media streams from devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers, and more.
As a result, it is likely to have the best compatibility for Chrome, while for other browsers (such as Edge or Firefox, etc.) it is likely to have some compatibility issues.
Of course, there are some other possibilities to cause this problem, such as problems with the drivers of the sound or graphics card after Windows Update, or with the settings of the browser itself.
In order to improve the compatibility of your Chromecast device, you will most likely need to install the Chromecast firmware on your computer.
Also, in your browser, you can try turning off the browser's graphics acceleration.
Take Edge as an example, open Edge again, click the “...” icon on the top right, select Settings, then click “System and performance” on the left side, then in the Then click “System and performance” on the left side, and in the upper System section, turn off Use graphics acceleration when available.
If the problem persists, please download and install the sound card driver (Realtek) and graphics card driver from the device manufacturer's website, depending on your computer's model number or serial number, and see if the same problem occurs after that.
If the problem still exists, it's likely that Chromecast is currently having compatibility issues with Windows 11, so please continue to use Windows 10 for the time being. If you'd like to see this issue noticed by the development team and some tweaks made, Microsoft attaches great importance to user experience, you can submit your ideas and suggestions through the Feedback Hub, and the development team will regularly review submissions for ideas or fixes.
