A, S and D keys dont work so have to type using the on-screen keyboard to be able to write this properly,
so earlier this year i began experiencing problems with the A, S D keys registering multiple times or taking to long to register, at the time this wasn't a big problem, but one day i was playing a videogame when suddently the mentioned keys stopped working entirely,
and now ive spend several days trying to fix this problem to no avail,
firstly i thought keys might be stuck due to dirt or may no longer work due to over-use, but eventually after invistigating iam fully convinced that the problem is being caused by the "FN" key, since usually when you press "Fn + Esc" a function called "fn lock" will turn on which lets you use the original F1 - 12 functions, but oddly said function didint work anymore, and while i thought it was a seperate problem, i eventually realized they were connected as some time passed and my keys suddently began working again, and curiously the fn lock function did too, but it wouldnt last long as eventually they stopped working once more, my theory that the fn key was involved with the general ASD key problem would be confirmed to me when i discovered that holding "Fn + Esc" actually allowed me to interact with one of the non-functional keys that being the A key, which
1, confirms the source of the problem, it being a software problem
2, the keys themselves are in a good state and arent broken or stuck,
now the main issue here being how to fix this,
so far ive tried updating & restarting the keyboard driver, didint fix it, so if somebody could please give me an probable solution to this problem that doesnt require messing with the BIOS i would be happy

Thank you for the more information. I checked the shortcut keys of Lenovo computers, and found that "Fn + Esc" is Fn lock, and pressing it in combination with other keys will not have any effect. After my test, "Fn + Esc + other keys" should lock Fn, and other keys will work normally alone, that is, "Fn + Esc + A" is equivalent to locking/unlocking Fn and entering "A".
The situation you described does not occur, so this should also be a manifestation of keyboard damage. If you have any external keyboard, you can perform the test in the last reply. According to your current description, there is hardware damage to your computer's built-in keyboard. You'd better contact Lenovo for official repair services.

I understand your concern, and we can do this later. So can you tell me what the key combination "fn + esc + A" does? I didn't find a similar key combination.
If you don't want to do a clean boot for the time being, and don't think the keyboard test software/website is correct. There are some more direct testing methods. If you have any other device, you can plug the keyboard into the other device. If ASD works properly, it proves that there is a problem with the software. If ASD does not work properly, it proves that there is a problem with the keyboard's firmware (not necessarily a damaged question., but it can be determined that it is a problem with the keyboard itself).
Similarly, if you have other keyboards, similar tests can be performed, plug other keyboards into this device. If ASD works properly, it proves that there is a problem with the keyboard's firmware. If ASD does not work properly, it proves that there is a problem with the computer software.
I hope you can tell us the test solution in detail, and we will do our best to solve your problem.

i have tested a keyboard test ASD keys dont register,
also the "fn + esc" function didint restore the key main function, it only did a different function involved with scrolling
the othe non-functional keys dont get restored by holding "fn + esc"
even though the keys dont register with the test that doesnt explain why the A key begins registering perfectly after holding "fn + esc" (tho this only applies with the A key as the others remain nonfunctional) as said previously nothing is wrong with the keys there is just an error with the FN key disabling almost any kind of use of them
though i do have to say that i have no idea if the problem is being really caused by a software problem i only said "software problem" because i couldnt find a better term for it,
if you wonder i havent tried the solution you proposed but honestly anything that may potentially cause serious problems to my pc if done wrong, honestly worries me and doesnt make me wanna try it
Hi SILVER200.
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
Your keyboard's "A, S, D" keys are completely unusable. I read your question carefully, and it seems that you found that your "A" key will be restored when you press "Fn + Esc" at the same time. Will the remaining two keys be like this?
Here is a more accurate way to test your keyboard. You can use any keyboard testing software/website to test your keyboard. Usually they will directly detect your keyboard signal instead of Windows' response. So they will not be affected by your software/system.
If you are sure that there is no problem with your keyboard, then according to your description. It may be that third-party software affects your keyboard use. If you have any brand-name computer management software in your computer, please temporarily uninstall them because they have high permissions and may affect part of the computer's hardware. Next, try a clean boot as follows to rule out interference from third-party services/startup items:
(Disclaimer: A "clean boot" starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. It helps to determine whether a background service is interfering with your game or program and to isolate the cause of a problem. These steps of "clean boot" might look complicated at first glance. However, to avoid any trouble for you, please follow them in order and step-by step so that it will help you get back on track.)
