I regret to inform you that I tried your suggesting several times and restarted my computer countless times. My headphones remain broken. Is there any more information you can provide me with?
my microphone doesnt work at all and just makes this weird static sound
I recently get a new pc that's updated to windows 11. Everything was working well. The keyboard was working fine as well as the mouse, headphones, and microphone. (my headphone and mic are combined into-one) Anyways, my mic randomly completely stopped working. I was calling my friends, and they said that they only heard static from me and didn't even slightly hear my voice at all. I did a microphone test, and it turns out they were right. The weird thing is, even when I'm not talking, it still plays the irritating static noise. Even when I disconnected my microphone, it still played the static noise. I tried different headphones, and comically it still played static the static noise, meaning that my headphones aren't broken. The only mic that works are from my crappy Bluetooth headphones. It seemed that any wired headphones would just play the static sound. I've tried wiring my headphones differently and restarted my computer countless times. It never worked. I've read an article about someone who had a similar problem in 2020. Someone in the comments recommended to go to the device manager and uninstall the mic device and restart. I tried this several times, it never worked. If anyone can help me and provide me with information on how to fix this, I would appreciate it greatly!

Disable Exclusive Mode
Some applications take exclusive control of the microphone, causing static.
1: Go to Sound settings (Win + I > Sound).
2: Click More sound settings under Input.
3: Select your microphone → Click Properties.
4: Go to the Advanced tab.
5: Uncheck:
"Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
"Give exclusive mode applications priority"
5: Click Apply, then OK.
Since static is present even when the mic is not plugged in, your PC might have grounding or EMI (electromagnetic interference) issues.
> Move your PC away from high-power devices (e.g., WiFi routers, power cables, and monitors).
> If you're using a laptop, unplug the charger and test the mic on battery power only.
> Try plugging into a different power outlet (preferably one with proper grounding).

2025-03-20T19:57:48+00:00 I tried updating the device driver in device manager. It said my drivers were all up to date. There were 4 windows updates I was missing. Unfortunately, after updating my drivers several times and restarting my computer, my microphone remains to have the weird static noise. Is there any more information or advice you can provide me with?
