I have the same issue, but can not uninstall the latest feature update, and can therefore not get to login that way, what can I then do @Microsoft?
"you can't sign in with this account. try a different account" on login screen after auto update
my computer restarted last night (presumably from an update) and when i attempted to login by typing my PIN, i received this error message- "you can't sign in with this account. try a different account"
here are the steps ive tried to troubleshoot:
- restart computer- FAIL
- forgot my pin- FAIL
- login using password- WAS TOLD USER/PW WERE INCORRECT
- tried logging in with a different user- WAS TOLD USER/PW WERE INCORRECT
- safe mode startup repair- FAIL
- safe mode uninstall latest quality update- FAIL
- safe mode uninstall latest feature update- SUCCESS
I am now able to login to my pc but clearly uninstalling the updates has affected windows with some of my applications not running properly. additionally, what do i need to do to avoid this issue on the next auto-update?

2025-01-30T06:06:00+00:00 Hi
I can't really tell you why or what happened, but I had the same problem after installing the 24H2 update. I was able to work around by resetting my PIN (i.e. choosing "I forgot my PIN" on the logon screen)

2025-02-11T05:54:31+00:00 Having the exact same issue here after 24H2 upgrade. We can log on one time with our pin, everything looks fine, but when we log out and then try to log back in we get the "You can't sign in with this account" message. What is wrong with 24H2?????
We backed out 24H2, and can now log in normally.
But how did you back out as I don’t have this option?
