    Hi, I'm John!

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm here to help you with this.

Does this happen when you're in full-screen mode? Try pressing the Windows key on your keyboard, does the taskbar appear?

    Check if auto-hide is enabled:

    > Press Windows + I to open Settings.

    > Go to Personalization > Taskbar > Click "Taskbar behavior" to expand the section.

    > Look for Automatically hide the taskbar, make sure there's No check mark on it. Disable if it is enabled.

If issue persists or if it is already turned off, Restart File Explorer:

    > Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

    > Find Windows Explorer, right-click it, and choose Restart.

Let me know how it goes.

If the issue persists, please provide more details by answering my questions.

Click "Reply" below to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

    Hi John,

I have a similar issue and I have gone through the listed steps. I am unable to get my windows key to bring up the app tray, use the search bar or to see my taskbar. I also noticed I am unable to open the microsoft store app on my system nor apps I installed through it. I have tried the restore point prior to when it was working, it worked for a while then stopped after the March stability updates were installed. I uninstalled the updates to see if that would solve the issue, but it still didn't solve it.

    Tayo

My window upper task bar has changed in appearance and functionality. How do I restore the original windows explorer top bar?

Tried "Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc" right click Window Explorer and restart.
