Will I continue to get driver updates and was it okay to re-install? I also had a problem and it said error, close and re-open or install again after having just reinstalled it but thankfully opening it again worked okay. The app was very slow which is why I reinstalled. I hope this is okay.

You can reinstall the NVIDIA App without any problems, uninstalling it alone will not uninstall your current graphics driver and you will continue to receive future driver updates.
Sometimes you need to reinstall it when there is a problem (games do not appear in the optimization tab) or when a new version is available and it does not update automatically.
