    Hi! I'm John.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'm here to help you with this.

Are you having this issue when clicking the search bar on the taskbar, or does it also happen when you press Win + S on your keyboard?

Also, have you made any recent changes to your system, like installing updates or new software?

In the meantime, if you haven’t already, try restarting Windows Explorer to see if that helps:
    > Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
    > Find Windows Explorer in the list, right-click it, and select Restart.

If issue persists, please try performing hard shutdown. Before proceeding with the steps below, please ensure that you've saved any unsaved tasks or documents.
    Perform hard shutdown:
    > Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds, or until the screen turns off, release the power button and wait for about 30 seconds.
    > After 30 seconds, press the power button again to turn on your device.

Let me know what happens, and we’ll go from there!

If the issue persists, please provide more details by answering my questions.

    Thanks for trying those steps!

Since the issue persists, let’s dig a little deeper.

Have you installed any recent Windows updates or made changes to your system before this started happening?

Also, are you using any third-party antivirus software that might be interfering?

For now, let’s try restarting the Search service and re-registering the search feature:

    > Restart Windows Search Service

    > Press Win + R, type services.msc and press Enter.

    > Scroll down and find Windows Search in the list.

    > Right-click it and select Restart (if the option is grayed out, click Start instead).

    Re-register Windows Search:

    > Right-click the Start button and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).

    > Copy and paste this command, then press Enter:

    Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Search | Reset-AppxPackage

    > Restart your PC and check if the search bar works.

Let me know what happens, and we’ll take the next step if needed!
