    Hi Joanne,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Wired headphones usually do not require specific setup, the computer should detect them once connected. So, please ensure the wired headphone works properly by testing it with another device. Then, test the computer's audio jack by testing it with another wired headphone

If both work well, go to Settings > System > Sound > Select your headphone as an output device. Or, go to Control Panel > Sound > Playback tab > Right click on the headphone and set it as a default device.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

No one knows whether the wired headphones are analog (the wire ends in a green plug) or digital (the wire ends in a USB connector) and no one knows whether the speakers are analog, digital or Bluetooth. So if the current answer - something else no one knows - was not helpful at all, it would be because the person answering had to guess, and they guessed wrong.

If you can fill in the details, the chances of getting a good answer will improve.
