PCR7 binding not possible/encryption issues

I tried enabling encryption of the file explorer to be able to lock certain folders the other day and now i can not download anything from the xbox app for pc. It says that my drives are not encrypted.

In System Information my BIOS mode IS set to: UEFI

PCR7 reads: Binding not possible

Automatic Device Encryption Support reads: Reasons for failed ADE: PCR7 binding is not supported, Hardware Security Test Interface failed and device is not Modern Standby

Secure Boot IS enabled

I have verified TPM is available and reads as working,

The command Confirm-SecureBootUEFI reads as true on all drives,

The command powercfg /a on all my drives reads as:

" The following sleep states are available on this system:

    Standby (S3)

    Hibernate

    Hybrid Sleep

    Fast Startup

The following sleep states are not available on this system:

    Standby (S1)

The system firmware does not support this standby state.

    Standby (S2)

The system firmware does not support this standby state.

    Standby (S0 Low Power Idle)

The system firmware does not support this standby state. "

I have also done this:

1) Type Win+R and type in regedit and hit enter

2) Expand to the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem

3) Ensure that on the right side "NtfsDisableEncryption" is set to 0

4) Reboot your PC

Under services.msc my EFS startup type is set to automatic.

When trying to get my folder encryption to be able to be turned on all i did was change the value/option of the last two things stated. I believe they are set back to normal but im having this issue with downloading things from the xbox pc app now. I have not had issues with downloads from other sources as of yet.

The last thing i check is this command:

(ran for all 3 drives and it reads the same) manage-bd

-protectors -get $env:systemdrive

BitLocker Drive Encryption: Configuration Tool version 10.0.26100

And to clarify, im worried about the not being able to download stuff from the xbox pc app and it saying my drivers arent encrypted, i gave up and dont care about the trying to encrypt file explorer and be able to lock certain folders, unless theres an easy fix there.

    Hi there,

Your system isn’t meeting the hardware requirements for automatic device encryption (which includes PCR7 binding) so Windows isn’t encrypting your drive the way the Xbox app expects.

The best and simplest solution here is to manually enable BitLocker on your system drive. BitLocker doesn’t require the same hardware support, so it will encrypt your drive and satisfy the Xbox app’s encryption check.

To do this, open Control Panel, navigate to BitLocker Drive Encryption, and select your system drive to turn on BitLocker. Follow the prompts, back up your recovery key, and let the encryption process complete.

Once your drive is encrypted with BitLocker, the Xbox app should allow downloads without reporting that your drive isn’t encrypted.
