Windows 11 sign in issue when turning on computer

Sometimes when I log into my computer, It tells me that I can’t log into my microsoft account, despite me being logged in previously. If I do manage to sign in, my files aren’t loaded in.

This happens after initially signing in, so I have access to the desktop here. Also, the power went out from a brief outage, so my problem started after that happened

Edit: My desktop icons load and work, but my files, personalization, and accounts I had are gone

Since you're logged into a temporary profile, your original user profile is still there but Windows cannot load it properly. This usually happens due to file system corruption after a power outage.

Sometimes, a simple restart fixes the temporary profile issue.

    1: Click Start > Power > Restart

2: Log in again and see if you get your normal profile.

If the issue persists, Fix Registry to Restore Your Profile

    1: Press Win + R > type regedit > Press Enter

    2: Go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

3: Click on each folder starting with S-1-5- (these are user profile IDs).

4: Look for the one with .bak at the end (e.g., S-1-5-21-xxxxx.bak).

If you find two similar profile IDs, one with .bak and one without, follow these steps:

    a. Rename the one WITHOUT .bak > Add .temp at the end.

    b. Rename the one WITH .bak > Remove .bak.

    c. Restart your PC.

    d. If you only see one profile ID (without .bak), continue to Step 5.

5: Click on your profile ID, and look for a key called State.

    6: Double-click State > Change its value to 0 > Click OK.

7: Restart your PC and check if your original profile is restore

If that doesn’t work, then you need to create a new profile.

    Hello ,

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue

It looks like Windows is logging you into a temporary profile instead of your usual user profile. This often happens due to file system corruption, especially after a power outage.

Check if You’re Logged into a Temporary Profile

1: Press Win + R, type cmd, and press Enter.

2: Type below command and press Enter:

    whoami /user

3: If the result shows TEMP in the username, you're in a temporary profile.

Please let me know how it goes!
