Consistent BSODs a little after boot ups from VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR and VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL

I am getting both errors alternatively usually a bit after I boot up my laptop from sleep. I've tried using DDU and reinstalling both the latest drivers and slightly older drivers for my GPU but I've still been getting problems. Someone suggested to me that it might be my GPU dying out but I found it hard to believe considering I just got this laptop a few months ago.

My current laptop is the ASUS ROG Strix G17 with a processor of AMD Ryzen 9 7940HX and GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 with 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM.

I also learned about minidumps in the process of trying to find a solution so I will post it below.

I appreciate any help I can get with this since I have no idea how to read the minidump files and figure out where the problem is.

Hi Thomas, as per checking and analyzing the new DMP files, it is still displaying the same issue with your Nvidia GPU, since you have the same problem, this might be an issue with the Graphics card itself, moreover, let us make sure there are no software-related issues on the PC, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Kindly follow the steps from this link:

Note: If the issue persists, I suggest contacting a local technician to physically check the device for any hardware-related issues.

Thank you Bernard, I have run a clean install following the steps that were provided on the link you provided. I am replying a bit late since I have been busy with work and didn't have time to do the clean install. After doing the clean install I restarted the laptop and didn't have any problems. However when I turned on my laptop today I had the same problem again where shortly after I turned it on the laptop BSOD with the VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR. I have included a new DMP file for the recent crash in case it shows something different from the DMP files for the previous crashes.

It seems like I have begun also receiving a new error. I am not seeing the Video_Memory_Management_Internal error really anymore but now I'm receiving a Video_TDR_Failure right after typing out this response. I will include a second link that includes this new DMP file.

Hi Thomas, thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard, a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today, my timezone is UTC +8.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to assist, based on your inputs and upon checking and analyzing the DMP files, there is an error in nvlddmkm.sys, which is your Nvidia graphics card driver and it seems that it is failing, in addition, let us make sure that there are no driver-related issues on the PC:

We need to run a clean installation of the Nvidia driver, this is different from doing DDU or updating the driver as this will remove all entries and replace them with compatible ones, kindly follow the steps from the link below:

Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

Additional note: If the issue persists, I suggest removing the GPU and placing it into another PCIe port available, however, if all fails, I suggest contacting a local technician to physically check the device for any hardware-related issues.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard
