Failed to install on Mon-Mar-03-2025 - 0x80070002


Either KB5050593 or KB5050188 currupted my ability to edit txt and bat files.

2025-01 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64 (KB5050593) Successfully installed on Mon-Mar-03-2025

One of these currupted my edit txt and bat command

2025-01 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64 (KB5050188)

Successfully installed on Mon-Mar-03-2025

I tried all the work arounds and that didn't work.

    PS I forgot I already have Reg backup running with task scheduler.

    Everything went well. :) And I created a new restore point. All updates installed. Even KB5053606 installed and I have no problem with editing. I'm running

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth but I doubt if it will show anything wrong.

    FIXED! :)

    1. You may run the following to cleanup the component store.
    • dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
    1. Create regular registry hive backups to prevent this situation from occurring in the future. Acelogix RegBak can be run using Task Scheduler.

    Thanks will do. I do have it restore on auto back but will try Acelogix RegBak and run dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup thx again. :)
