It's empty and can't be deleted. AV detects nothing and there are conflicting reports to what program this belongs to.

    Thanks to A.I Overview.

UpdatePlatform.exe is a legitimate executable file associated with Microsoft, specifically related to Microsoft Defender Antivirus security intelligence and platform updates.

PURPOSE : UpdatePlatform.exe  is part of the process that ensures Microsoft Defender Antivirus receives the latest security intelligence and platform updates.

Are you possibly running other types of Antivirus Products?

If so you may have a conflict between them.

Since it's a 0-byte file it always comes back as android-cts-7.1_r6-linux_x86-arm.zip on virustotal.

Since AV detects nothing, it could be a remnant from Windows updates or a software installer. However, some malware disguises itself in Temp folders.

Try to upload it to VirusTotal (virustotal.com) to check for hidden threats.

Hi, I am an Independent Advisor.

Let me help you with this issue.

I understand you are having problems deleting the platform.exe on the Temp folder.

Have you tried deleting it on Safe mode?

    Please follow the steps below.

Restart your PC in Safe Mode (Shift + Restart → Troubleshoot → Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart > Choose "Enable Safe Mode").

Navigate to C:\Windows\Temp and try deleting it.
