How to change font size of MS Money on Win 11
I succumbed to doom warnings about my Lenovo not being compatible with WIn 11 and bought an HP Pavilion on Win 11. 1 of the primary apps that I use is MS Money. Yes, I know it was sunset over a decade ago, but it's a really great app. I seem to recall when I upgraded to Win 10 that I was able to increase Money's tiny font size. Now on Win 11, I can't find any way to do that. Here is what I've tried based on many Bing searches.
- Settings > Display > Custom Scaling to 125. All other apps changed font size, but not Money.
- Settings > Accessibility > Text size wo 120. Ditto above results.
- Windows search for DPI change the size of text. This just brought me to the setting in #1 above.
- Edge > Settings > Zoom to 125. Ditto #1 results.
- Checked Windows update and downloaded 2 drives it thought I might need. No change in font size.
- Run Money in compatability mode. This did change Money, but made the screen so large that you had to scroll to do even a single task, plus it didn't allow me to multi-task other apps. This is not a sustainable way to run the app.
- 1 of the answers I found, maybe it was the updated drivers, did something to cause Money to display a warning every time it's launched: "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? Money PLus YS DMRL Bits"
Is there any other Windows setting that I haven't tried? Or must I always run this sunset app on my sunseting Win 10 laptop forever and ever?

2025-02-21T17:23:05+00:00 Good day! This is Rodney A. an independent Microsoft Expert. My goal is to resolve your issue in a timely manner.
To change the font size in Microsoft Money on Windows 11, you can't directly adjust the font size within the program itself; instead, you need to modify the system-wide display settings to scale up the text size for all applications, including MS Money, by accessing your Windows settings and adjusting the "Text size" slider under Accessibility options.
Here's how to do it:
Open Settings: Go to the Start menu and click on "Settings".
Navigate to Accessibility: Select "Accessibility" from the left-hand menu.
Adjust Text Size: Under "Display", find the "Text size" slider and move it to your preferred size.
Key points to remember:
No in-app font control:
Microsoft Money doesn't have a dedicated option to change its font size within the program itself.
System-wide change:
Adjusting the text size in Windows settings will affect the font size across all applications on your system, including MS Money.
DPI considerations:
If you have a high DPI monitor, you may need to experiment with different scaling options to achieve optimal readability.
Let me know how it works. Thank you!

2025-02-21T17:04:47+00:00 OK, I just answered my own question. Changing the Display > Custom Scale from 125 to 200 fixed my tiny font size in Money. I.e. going from 100 to 125 didn't affect it all, but at 200 it is legible. Now I just have to update other apps to run in 80% zoom so they aren't all so giant.
