    Hi, Karen

To exit Safe Mode in Windows 10, follow these steps:

    1. Simply restart your computer, and it should boot up normally.
    2. If that doesn’t work: Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter. In the System Configuration window, go to the Boot tab, uncheck Safe boot, then click OK and restart your PC.

That should get you back to normal mode.

    Hi Karen,

If Windows defaults to Safe mode at every start, please try this.

Login to your account and launch msconfig.exe.

This starts the System Configuration Utility. In the System Configuration Utility, select the Boot tab.

If you have a multi-boot setup, select your Windows installation from the list. Under Boot options, uncheck “Safe boot”.

    Click Apply, and click OK.

What happens when the computer is rebooted?

If the computer opens to command prompt then type or copy and paste:

    bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal
