"Driver power state failure" error

Hello,

I've had this error appear every 2-3 minutes when I turn on my PC. I've had the PC for a few months now and it never had this error before.

I tried following some guides like:

  • running a scan (sfc /scannow)
  • troubleshooters
  • Windows updates
  • and I tried running the Windows Virus scan too, but whenever I clicked on the "Virus and Threat Protection" the option would never open, it'd freeze

I also noticed that the AMD Adrenalin software that always runs in the background when I start the PC isn't running anymore, and when I tried to open it it didn't work. Maybe the issue is there, but I don't know what to do with it. I wouldn't have enough time to install a new version of that app because the error appears too quickly (like I said, every 2-3 mins) and the PC restarts.

The last thing I tried was trying to accesss the "Windows Recovery Environment" but I couldn't do that either as the error appeared before it could launch.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I've been offline.

    Thanks.

The minidumps you provided indicate two different causes for the crashes: one points to the PCI bus, while the other attributes the issue to the USB root hub driver.

Which USB devices do you have connected to your PC?

    Let's start with something simple.

Right-mouse-button click on the Windows "Start" button.

Choose "Device Manager" to get a "tree" view.

    Double-click on any device.

Some of them will show a "Power" tab.

If it does, is there a check-mark beside "allow Windows to power off this device to save power"?

If there is, remove the check-mark.

Repeat for all other devices that have that "Power" tab.

    Tell us if this works.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Blue screen issues can have several reasons. It is necessary to investigate.

Please see if your computer created minidump files.

    These files are in "C:\Windows\Minidump".

(If you don't have a "Minidump" folder, check if it is in the plural "Minidumps".)

Copy any files you have to your desktop and store them in a ZIP file. Then, upload the ZIP file to the cloud (OneDrive), choose to share it, and get the link.

If the system is not stable enough to do this, start Windows in Safe Mode with Networking.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win...

In the first step, in the "Windows Recovery Environment" article, try the steps under "Automatic repair".

At the "Startup settings" step, press 5 or F5 to start Windows in Safe Mode with Networking.

Post the link to the ZIP file here so I can have a look.
