HDMI connection

I plugged the ps4 into the HDMI port into the back of my all-in-one HP desktop but there is no "input" button to press, and I can't find a way to switch it to HDMI in settings, or display. Can someone please put a step by step on how to change the display from PC to HDMI and back again? So far nothing I read has been working/ the listed options are not appearing in my settings menu.

Also, there is a small oval shaped hole next to the HDMI port on the back of my computer but there is no button there, I wonder if this is a manufacturer's defect and that is where the button should have been? the hole is the size and shape of a USB C charger. Thank you

    Hello ,

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue

Most HP All-in-One desktops with an HDMI port only support HDMI output, not input.

This means you cannot use your PC’s screen as a display for your PS4 unless your specific model supports HDMI-in.

Check If Your HP All-in-One Supports HDMI Input

    1: Find Your Exact Model

    a. Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.

    b. Look for System Model and search for its specs online.

2: Look Up HDMI Port Type

    a. HDMI output (most common) > Sends video from PC to a monitor/TV.

    b. HDMI input (rare) > Allows external devices (like PS4) to display on the PC screen.

    3: Check HP’s Official Manual

    a. Go to HP's support website and search for your model.

    b. If HDMI input is supported, HP will mention how to switch to it.

If your model supports HDMI input, there should be a physical button near the HDMI port.

Some HP models (like the HP Envy All-in-One 27/32 series) have a "HDMI-IN" button near the bottom edge or on the side.

Try pressing F4 or F12 on your keyboard, as some models use these keys to switch inputs.

After trying above steps, please reach out to me if you have any doubts or issues
