X.com app disappeared from 'Get notifications from these senders' and no longer receiving any desktop notifications from X

Good evening. I had been using X on my desktop and I could access the settings through X directly or Windows 10 Home 'Get notifications from these senders menu.' I had downloaded the X App from the Microsoft store but had seen it was connected via Edge and could be opened in Edge. About a day ago none of my X notifications were coming across my desktop. I went to the 'Get notifications' and it was missing from the list but still accessible through the Start Menu. I initially went to the Edge Browser and went to X.com. Push notifications were off and when I tried to reset them it said it was incompatible with my browser. I cleaned the cache, cookies, etc. for all time. I went to Edge Settings, allowed notifications and pop-ups to x.com and when I went back could allow push notifications. So x.com via Edge is set and Edge is set for notifications. I uninstalled and reinstalled the X App and everything is good to go. But the get notifications menu is still missing X. Because I cleared Edge out I wonder if it will come back once I get a notification. But I'm not sure.

I went through the Microsoft Store directly by typing it into my search through the start menu. The page you referenced shows the link to 'view in store' and that is what I used to download it. When I went to the online store and searched for X it came up as Twitter and installed. It is installed as an app but I don't know if you mean something different as I don't know how or where to install X.com.

After installing it, are notifications functioning properly, or is the issue still persisting?

Are you referring to this version of X? If so, the app might not have been updated in a while (still showing as Twitter), which could be the reason it’s causing some issues.

I suggest you try installing X.com as an app using Edge and see if it helps you get notifications.

    Thanks Paulo.

I follow a couple of people on X but do not have anyone who will be able to send me a DM. I installed X as an app through the Microsoft store. I cleared the complete Edge cookies and site data for all time.

Hi, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

As far as I know, apps in "Get notifications from these senders" list will only appear once you get notifications. Perhaps, you can ask someone to DM you to get notifications?

If that still didn't work, I need to get info on the following:

    • Did you install X as an app using Edge?
    • Have you tried clearing X cookies and site data then try again?
