In the past few months, there are BSOD crashes I'm receiving that seem to have become increasingly more common. I get the message SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED while it cites the problematic driver ALWAYS as wdiwifi.sys, I don't understand it.
I have gotten two more crashes in the past month, which is a huge uptick compared to the previous which were over half a year or a year apart. They seem to occur ONLY when I'm online / connected to the WIFI, and are seemingly random; notably, they are not occurring following installation of any new software or hardware or Windows updates.
I have attempted to reinstall my Wifi drivers in the past, and the issue has not been resolved. I have also used the Network Reset feature multiple times, similarly to no avail. Windows does not seem to think my drivers are outdated or incorrect in any way. This issue is proving problematic to troubleshoot as the crashes are inconsistent and I have no way to reproduce them at will or understand the culprit other than just fully going offline. Therefore it would also prove difficult to know if the problem is solved once I take any steps to resolve it, as the crashes might just come at a later date.
Does anyone have any experience with this, or suggestions on what I could do to stop these crashes fully? I'm tired of dealing with this because I am a Film / TV music composer and use my PC to work / send files online, which I need to be able to do on a daily basis without problematic & scary crashes happening.
DMP file copied below, please let me know what I can do. And do NOT suggest for me to update the NIC / WIFI driver in Device Manager, I've tried that many times and it never fixes it.
All the best,
Thomas J. Peters

Thank you!
I've attempted this System File Repair in Windows PowerShell now, and running a restart on my computer.
Earlier today, I did a Memory Diagnostic check and SFC Scan Now check in the Command prompt, and I've also previously done the uninstall the Wifi device in the Device Manager / the update of that and that never seems to resolve the problem, because Windows becomes convinced that I always have the new version, even after uninstalling and installing the Manufacturer's Wifi driver for my motherboard. Even uninstalling it and reinstalling the Wifi Driver has not fixed the problem, so it leads me to believe maybe there was a version of previous Win 10 updates that installed that somehow corrupted my WIFI driver in some way and since the latest Windows 10 update, maybe the bugs have been patched or something? Not sure really.
It's overall a very sporadic BSOD that only occurs while online and points to a corruption in the mentioned file - wdiwifi.sys
Another point to mention, is this issue started happening for me when I had Spectrum install a newer Router at my apartment, so I'm not sure if there's a software incompatibility with that or whether that would've affected this problem as well. You'd think the latest Windows 10 update would just fix that however?
AS AN UPDATE:
So far, after doing all of the above tasks, there have not been any further BSODs, so that's a good sign. If I have another one, I can report back however!
Thank you for taking the time to review my case. The support here is better than even Microsoft's Helpline. It means a lot to have users dedicated to helping each other out.
All the best,
Thank you for your response, I've actually tried this one already before and it didn't resolve the problem.
A Microsoft tech attempted this with me about a month ago, and still, the BSOD persisted with the same message.
Since then however, I have ran the latest Windows 10 update today, and I also followed the cleanup procedure in the secondary suggestion below, and so far , so good. There haven't been any problems when keeping my computer online. I will update if I find out anything else or need any second opinions on the issue!
Thank you!
All the best

Hello,
Please go to your laptop/motherboard/Wi-Fi card manufacturer's website and then download a copy of the Wi-Fi driver. However, don't launch it just yet.
Go to Device Manager and then uninstall the Wi-Fi card (as well as the driver) and then restart your PC.
Then, go back to the file that you downloaded and then install the Wi-Fi driver.
Let me know how this goes.
