Bluetooth keeps disconnecting and disappearing every 5-6 minutes on HP Victus 15-fb0xxx (Windows 11)

Hi,

I'm facing a recurring Bluetooth issue on my HP Victus 15-fb0xxx laptop running Windows 11. Every 5 to 6 minutes, the Bluetooth adapter suddenly disappears from the Device Manager and reappears shortly after. During this time, any connected Bluetooth devices (like headphones or mouse) get disconnected and reconnect only when the Bluetooth comes back.

  • Updated the Bluetooth driver via Device Manager
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the Bluetooth driver
  • Installed the official Bluetooth drivers from the HP support site
  • Disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager
  • Ran Bluetooth Troubleshooter
  • Disabled Fast Startup
  • Checked for Windows Updates and installed the latest updates
  • Ran sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • Ran HP Hardware Diagnostics – Bluetooth passed the test
  • BIOS is up to date
  • OS Reinstalled

Despite trying all the above steps, the problem still persists. I'm not using any Bluetooth dongle – it's the built-in adapter. This issue happens even when the laptop is idle, and not just during gaming or heavy tasks.

Please let me know if there’s any additional solution or if this is a known issue with this model.

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to clarify that I did not update any drivers from Device Manager or any unofficial sources.

All the drivers, including the Bluetooth driver and BIOS update, were downloaded directly from the official HP support website for my exact model (Victus 15-fb0xxx). I also used the HP Support Assistant to check for updates. So everything is from trusted sources.

I've already disabled fast startup, set the power plan to Balanced, and ensured that I properly shut down the system instead of putting it to sleep.

Still, the issue persists — the Bluetooth adapter disappears from Device Manager every 5-6 minutes and reconnects after a short while, causing all Bluetooth devices to disconnect temporarily.

Would appreciate any additional suggestions if there's anything else I can try.

    Thanks again!

You updated from the wrong sources

Win11 by default only installs critical security updates, unless you made the mistake of selecting “Get latest updates” which includes drivers.

See your laptop/PC makers support to update both bios and ALL drivers.

There should be a shortcut to that makers update utility on your system.

Then set Bios to defaults & Pwr to balanced. At the end of the day shutdown, do not leave in sleep.

Do NOT update from any other source inc Device Manager

You only need to set the Advanced options for notify & Time, then leave win update to do its own thing.
