Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Just to make sure I understand correctly, are you saying that when you try to launch the game from the Microsoft Store or Xbox app, it opens Steam instead and won't let you play because you don't own it on Steam?

Could you let me know the name of the game you're trying to play?

Any additional information you can provide will be helpful in diagnosing and resolving the issue.

Click "Reply" below to let me know.

    Regards,

    John J.D.

    No worries at all

Thanks for sharing the link, now I see you're talking about Rocket Rats from the Microsoft Store, and not something from Steam. Since you already bought and played it before, it's definitely strange that it's now trying to open Steam and won’t let you play.

    Just to understand better:

When you click "Play" from the Microsoft Store or Xbox app, does it immediately open Steam?

Did anything change recently on your PC—like a system update or installing a new launcher?

    Let’s try this step together:

    > Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

    > Find Rocket Rats in the list and click the three dots (...) next to it.

    > Select Advanced options, then try clicking Repair. If that doesn’t help, try Reset.

Let me know what happens after that, and we’ll take the next step if needed. We’ll get it working again!

It looks like Rocket Labs (I'm assuming that’s the game you're referring to) isn’t available directly through the Microsoft Store, it’s only available on Steam.

Since it’s not in the Microsoft Store, you’ll need to launch it through Steam. If you don’t have Steam installed, you can download it from Microsoft Store.

Once Steam is installed, you can download and launch the game directly from there.

Let me know how it goes.
