Hello, Orbie899
Welcome to the Microsoft community.
Thank you for your feedback. I understand that you are experiencing a problem with no sound from the headset on a specific website in Windows 11, here are some troubleshooting options:
- Open the website in question → Click on the “lock icon” on the left side of the address bar → Select “Website Settings”.
Make sure the “Sound” permission is set to ‘Allow’ (some websites need to allow “Microphone” at the same time).
Search for “Sound” in the browser settings → Turn off the “Block website sound” option.
Firefox
Enter about:preferences#privacy → Scroll to “Permissions” → Click “Settings” → Check the blocked websites.
- Right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar → “Sound Settings” → select Headphones in “Output Devices”.
Click the “small arrow” on the right side of the device → Check “Set as default device” and “Allow apps to control this device exclusively”.
Assigning Devices for Specific Applications
Go to ‘System’ → ‘Sound’ → ‘Volume Synthesizer’ → Find the browser process used by the website in question → Select Headphones from the drop-down menu.
- Turn off Exclusive Mode
Right-click the headset device → “Properties” → ‘Advanced’ tab → Uncheck “Allow applications to have exclusive control over this device”.
Disable Enhancements
In the “Enhancements” tab of the device properties page → Check “Disable all enhancements” → Apply.
- Type chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling in the address bar → Set to “Disabled” → Restart the browser.
Type chrome://flags/#enable-webrtc-pipewire-capturer → Set to ‘Disabled’.
Force reload the audio driver
Visit the problematic website → Press Shift + Esc to open the browser task manager → End all “Audio Service” processes → Refresh the page.
- Run PowerShell as administrator → Execute: net stop audiosrv net stop AudioEndpointBuilder net start audiosrv net start AudioEndpointBuilder
Uninstall and reinstall audio components.
Device Manager → Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers → Right-click to uninstall all audio devices → The system will automatically reinstall the drivers after reboot.
Some websites (e.g. Discord/Spotify) require separate I/O devices → Check the audio settings within the website.
Try updating your browser to Canary beta (may have fixed Windows 11 compatibility issues).
If the problem persists, it is recommended to provide the name of the specific website and the model of the headset, as this will help me understand your issue.
I look forward to your feedback.
Best Regards,
