Found a bifrost folder in users local was it a virus?
Hello,
Recently I was looking through the user/appdata/local and localflow folders I found a folder called bifrost I didn't recognize it so I searched it up and got mixed messaging on if it was a virus or for a video game. I saw a recommendation to look for a bifrost.exe in task manager and I couldn't find anything. Should I reinstall windows just to be safe or am I over reacting?
Thank you,
Reilly

2025-04-11T06:22:51+00:00 That's unlikely because Windows Defender already has a record of detecting Bifrost trojan if it's manipulated.

If it were a Trojan, it would have been removed.
Did you ever install AutoDesk?

2025-04-11T06:17:28+00:00 Hello Anis,
I've ran multiple scans with windows (and its offline mode) and my antivirus, with nothing coming up. There was one file in the folder though I cant remember what type or name, as I deleted the folder almost immediately. I am just worried that if it is a trojan that its found ways to bypass any sort of system scan.
Thank you,
Reilly

Bifrost is a cloud security service.

It is not a built-in feature though.
Is there any content inside the folder?
Did you run a quick scan using "Windows Security" app?
