NVME SSD speeds are super slow, what can i do?

So i have 2 M.2 NVME SSD's in my pc. One is a Kingston 1tb which during test reads around 6000mb/s and writes around 5300mb/s. The second is a western digital 512gb. Not sure about the speeds on this since thats not as important. Anyways, whenever i download a file for example and moving it from downloads to lets say, documents or whatever. On the same disk i get extremly low speeds (down to kb/s most of the time) and i think something is wrong. The pc is quite new with all new updates and drivers installed. Shown in the last picture is the fastest speed i got. I have probably forgotten some information here.

Since the CrystalDiskMark speeds are showing good performance, but you're experiencing slow speeds when moving files between directories, it suggests that the issue might be related to file system operations or Windows behavior rather than the SSD's raw performance.

1: Press Win + S and search for Defragment and Optimize Drives.

2: Select your SSD from the list and click Optimize.

This will run the TRIM command, which is important for maintaining SSD performance over time.

Windows Defender can sometimes cause delays when moving files, especially when scanning for viruses or threats.

1: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security.

2: Under Virus & Threat Protection, click Manage Settings.

    3: Disable Real-time Protection temporarily.

4: Try moving files again and see if the speed improves.

Note: Make sure to enable real-time protection again after testing

unfortunately that did not help. In CrystalDiskInfo it says for both "PCIe 4.0 x4". And i have checked for firmware updates and the latest is the one i have for both as well. I ran a test using CrystalDiskMark and got pretty decent speeds. So it seems like its only when for example moving files from one place to another and so on.

    Hello ,

I’m here to help you in resolving your issue

Check If Your SSD is Running in PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 Mode

    1: Download and install CrystalDiskInfo

    2: Open it and check:

Transfer Mode: Should show PCIe 4.0 x4 (or PCIe 3.0 x4 if the drive or slot doesn't support PCIe 4.0).

If it's running at x1 or x2, it's likely bottlenecked due to a BIOS setting or hardware issue.

then, Fix it using below steps :

1: Go to BIOS (F2 or Del on boot)

2: Look for PCIe Configuration and set it to Gen 4 (if supported).

    3: Save and restart.

    Also, Open Kingston SSD Manager

Check for firmware updates for the NVMe SSD.

If an update is available, install it and restart.

After trying above steps, please reach out to me if you have any doubts or issues
