Morning-Limited Crashes / Errors on My PC?

Hi all!

It has been a while since many random crashes and errors started popping out from nowhere on my PC a day around January / February of this year. I have tried as many solutions as possible, but most problems just wouldn't be solved. Hope someone can assist me to solve the problems thanks :)

It began with a moment when I was trying to launch Wuthering Waves (a mobile game) on my PC (there should not be any problem), somehow errors kept appearing and crashing the game no matter how many times I tried to re-launch it. Later, hilariously, I found that most problems appeared only during the morning (although it did happen sometimes during the evening or afternoon, Hong Kong Time), where I could play the games normally and peacefully during the afternoon or evening most of the time. Additionally, I just left my PC on during the morning when I was going to school, but the PC returned to normal after I came back, and the game could be launched without any problem. This means that the cause should be software rather than hardware or spec. Nevertheless, other issues also arose.

Encountered crashes and errors:

  1. Wuthering Waves: the ue4-client game has crashed and will close (Case 1)
  2. Wuthering Waves: Fatal error on UE4-client when launching (Case 2)
  3. Wuthering Waves: Crashed after successfully loaded into the game and / or played for less than 3 mins (Case 3)
  4. Delta Force: Loading crash (Case 1)
  5. Delta Force: Black screen / Bugged screen after successful loading (Case 2)
  6. EA Apex: Failed to launch Apex
  7. Window Login Interface: User name and password typing space did not pop out (Sometimes)
  8. Window Login Interface: Increased loading time after entering password (Likely persisting)
  9. Google Chrome: Home page random errors (Solved)
  10. Google Chrome: YouTube page errors (Solved)
  11. Discord: Failed to launch (Often)
  12. Discord: Bugged interface (Persisting)
  13. Discord: Couldn't scroll up or down after clicking any icon (Persisting)
  14. Malwarebytes errors popping out (Sometimes)
  15. Other random app errors popping out (Sometimes)

Initially, I suspected a Windows update was the cause, as all problems disappeared for a while after I uninstalled that update, in problems started popping out days after I installed this new update. However, they appeared again days after, and uninstalling the same update did not work anymore, unfortunately.

Tried solutions:

  1. SFC scan
  2. Virus scan (e.g. Malwarebytes / Window's Home Defender, no virus found)
  3. Deep memory scan (Blue screen virus scan)
  4. System repair (e.g. DISM)
  5. Login bios settings
  6. Window updates
  7. Un/Reinstall Window updates
  8. Driver updates (NVidia GeForce)
  9. Reinstall Driver updates (NVidia GeForce)
  10. Reinstall Driver (NVidia GeForce)
  11. Google Chrome updates
  12. Google Chrome advanced history / cookies clean
  13. Wuthering Waves reinstallation
  14. Wuthering Waves compatibility settings (e.g. Run as admin / Stop screen optimization)
  15. Wallpaper Engine reinstallation (uninstalled for now)
  16. Discord reinstallation
  17. Changing the system's parameters
  18. Stopped Windows updates
  19. Uninstall AdBlocker
  20. Disable Window's Home Defender
  21. Disable Window's Home Defender instant protection
  22. Disable Malwarebytes' instant protection
  23. Checking Task Manager right after turning on PC (No suspicious / high usage app found)
  24. Disabled some apps' launching after turning on the PC

    Hi Royce Eden Tang

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand the frustration you're experiencing with the crashes and errors on your PC. Based on the information you provided, it seems like you have already tried several troubleshooting steps. Since the issues persist, I recommend trying the following additional steps:

    1. Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows 10 is up to date with the latest updates from Microsoft.
    2. Update Device Drivers: Ensure all your device drivers, not just NVidia GeForce, are up to date. You can use the Device Manager to check for driver updates.
    3. Check for Disk Errors: Run a disk check to scan and fix any errors on your hard drive. You can do this by right-clicking on your hard drive in File Explorer, selecting Properties, going to the Tools tab, and clicking on Check.

    Open Command Prompt as Administrator

Press Win + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows Terminal (Admin).

    chkdsk C: /f /r

You can also perform an in-place restore by following the steps at this link: How to do a Windows 10 Repair Upgrade - Microsoft Community
