I appreciate the advice, however, I already tried all of this and just tried it again to no avail. Still the same F429F error code. The laptop does not appear to have any camera access as all as it does not function for any other applications such as zoom either.

Thank you for your continued efforts!

Let’s try a few more troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

1). Do you have any third-party antivirus software installed? If so, please try temporarily disabling it and check if the issue persists.

2). If you're using Windows Defender, please follow these steps to allow the Camera app through the firewall

    > Open Windows Security via the search bar.

    > Go to Firewall & network protection > Allow an app through firewall.

    > Look for the Camera app in the list and ensure the checkbox is ticked for both Private and Public networks.

    > If it’s not listed, click Change settings, then Allow another app to add it manually.

3). Change some values in the registry

    > Press Windows + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.

    > Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform

    > In the right pane, right-click on an empty space and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.

    > Name the new entry: EnableFrameServerMode

    > Double-click it and set the value to 0, then click OK.

    > Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.

Thank you for sharing the information. Have you tried accessing the camera using any other applications to check if the issue persists?

In the meantime, please try reinstalling the camera driver to see if that resolves the issue

    > Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.

    > Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.

    > Expand the Cameras section, right-click the camera device, and choose Uninstall device.

    > Restart your PC. Windows should automatically detect the device and reinstall the latest driver.

Additionally, make sure the Windows Camera Frame Server service is enabled and running

    > Open the Run dialog again (Windows + R), type services.msc, and press Enter.

    > Locate and double-click Windows Camera Frame Server.

    > Set the Startup type to Automatic.

    > Under Service status, click Start.

    > Go to the Log On tab and ensure Local System account is selected.

    > Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.

Let me know if this helps!

Hello, I'm Thileep, I'm happy to help you!

1). Please check if your laptop has a privacy slider near the camera. If it does, make sure it's turned on.

2). Try pressing Fn + (F1 to F12) (varies by model) to toggle the camera on/off. Look for a camera icon on one of the function keys.

If the problem continues, please provide a screenshot of your computer's make and model by following these steps:

Press Win + R, type msinfo32, and hit Enter.

In the System Information window, take a screenshot and share it here. If you're unable to share a screenshot, you can copy and paste your system specifications instead.

    Regards

    Thileep
