Any idea when Qualcomm FastConnect 7800, (Qualcomm NCM865) will be validated to support Bluetooth LE Audio within Windows 11?

I specifically upgraded my Windows 11 laptop to the Qualcomm NCM865 for Bluetooth LE. I am certain that my 2230 Wi-Fi/BT 5.4 card supports BLE on its spec sheet.

The drivers within Device Manager even show multiple BLE enumerators. The Wi-Fi works and the 'regular' Bluetooth works.

However, the option to select Bluetooth LE within the Bluetooth Device options is not available as a toggle switch.

This implies my hardware does not support Bluetooth LE. However, I know my BT 5.4 card does support BLE, but I believe Microsoft has not yet validated support for BLE with this specific vendor/driver/im not sure.

I was hoping to receive an update as to if this will ever be supported, or if I need to downgrade to an Intel AX210 Wi-Fi card, and pray that that works to support my BLE Headphones.

Any sincere information that goes beyond basic 'troubleshooting' is appreciated.

Even with the AX210 w/ BT 5.3 I was unable to get BLE as an option in Windows 11 Settings. I tried to implement several advanced troubleshooting techniques involving various drivers, registry edits, and codec installs. While I was able to get Intel Smart Sound to show up in device manager, windows 11 refuses to display a toggle option.

My best guess at this point is that my AMD based laptop is the limiting factor (despite having all hardware requirements met).

It is my understanding that Intel Evo based laptops have been BLE approved. Microsoft, and perhaps Intel, is artificially limiting the option to many many users. It is probably a simple thing on their end to add support for anyone with a BT5.3 or newer card, however they chose not to.

I understand your frustration Dirk M2.

I have a Qualcom NCM865 (Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Network Adapter) which is BT 5.4. Qualcomm's website indicates it supports LE Audio. I'm running the latest drivers from March on an AMD 7800X3D system and I don't have the "Allow LE Audio When Available" option in the Bluetooth menu either.

I installed an AX210 and still didn't receive this option so I put the NCM865 back in.

I think community helpers like Francisco Montilla are genuinely trying to help, but the reality is they are also clueless as to why some people get it and some don't.

LE Audio is significantly better for gaming and movie watching as there is a big difference between classic bluetooth 5.4 and LE audio in terms of latency. The lipsync and gunfire matching animations is a night and day difference. It's a shame Microsoft doesn't address this. Despite what guys like Francisco Montilla say, I am certain it's a Microsoft problem. My wife has an Intel EVO laptop with an AX210 chip and she doesn't have this option either. Additionally, Qualcomm has stated that their drivers DO include support for LE Audio in Windows 11.

Until Microsoft figures this out, I have been successfully using a product called the eppfun ak3040pro max. It's a USB dongle that supports all the AptX codecs as well as LE Audio. 99% of the time it works great. Only reason some people didn't like it is because it can be quirky to connect to. If you can get one it might be your best bet.

Later this month Avantree is also releasing the C82 LEA transmitter that has AptX Adaptive, LE Audio and support for upgradeable firmware. It launches at the end of this month and might be worth trying.

    Hi there,

Currently there isn’t any public update or timeline from Microsoft indicating that Qualcomm FastConnect 7800’s Bluetooth LE support will be fully validated on Windows 11.

Although your Device Manager shows BLE enumerators, the absence of a BLE toggle suggests that the complete BLE feature set isn’t enabled by the validated drivers. For immediate BLE functionality with your BLE headphones, the simplest solution is to use a known supported adapter like the Intel AX210.

Also, please note that this public forum is staffed by users like you and me, not Microsoft employees, therefore, it's unlikely that users here know such information from deeper sources.

Let me know how it goes!

If anyone gets an LE audio device working (where audio is actually transmitted, not just connected) on a similar setup to mine (Windows 11 AMD + BT5.3 or higher) let me know.

I installed the MT7925 into my motherboard a few days ago. I used the drivers from ROG forum and voila LE audio was available in Bluetooth menu. The only LE audio device I had was my Cleer Arc III's that are open earbuds. They connected fine and sound quality and latency were excellent. I loaded up Stalker 2 and tested gunfire sound with animation and it was near instantaneous.

One thing I noticed though was switching devices such as going from my open earbuds to my sound bar would cause Bluetooth menu to freeze and it would stop playing audio altogether. Also, if I took a call it would switch back to Windows audio with only left side audio. I couldn't get audio back to normal until I turned off Bluetooth in Windows menu and power cycled my earbuds. Also, I noticed Windows Bluetooth panel was reporting my open earbuds as left side only even though they were working normally.

I picked up a set of Jlab Jbuds Lux ANC that I had been wanting to try for nighttime movies/gaming. They support LE audio. I noticed right away that they ran perfectly. I can switch between phone and PC audio instantly without issue and the latency is fantastic (with movie mode in JLab app).

So BLE is working great but doesn't like setups where you have two earbuds connected wirelessly needs better drivers/firmware to work properly with Windows environment and seems to work best with devices that receive signal from only one transmitter with wire running to other side of ear (like headsets).
