They are there and computer boots but can't access either drive C or D. Both SSD. Also, any desktop shortcut to those drives you click and nothing happens. Device manager sees the drives but I can't access them. Uninstalled the update KB5055528 and back to normal

Your steps are very clear to me, but the drives aren't the problem.

I install the update KB5055528 and lose access to both SSD drives

I uninstall the Update KB5055528 and everything is great and back to normal

When i install the update KB5055528 and lose access to the drive's device manager sees them

C and D but i cannot access them or even see them on a file tree

I uninstall KB5055528 and everything is great and back to normal.

Very sorry to hear about your issues with your system. I will be happy to help you out today.

    Please try following solutions:

-Check your update history to confirm it's KB5025239 (or a related one) that's causing the issue. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. Uninstall the Problematic Update.

-Check for Driver Updates (Especially Storage Controllers):Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start Menu).Expand Storage controllers.Right-click on each controller and select Update driver.Choose Search automatically for drivers.

If that doesn't work, try Browse my computer for drivers and let Windows search your computer.

If that doesn't work, visit your motherboard manufacturer's website and download the latest storage controller drivers for your specific model.

-Search for Disk Management in the Start Menu and open it.

Look for your SSDs. Do they have drive letters assigned? If not, right-click on the unallocated space or the drive and select Change Drive Letter and Paths... and assign a letter.

If the drive appears as "Not Initialized," right-click and initialize it (be very careful with this step if you have data on the drive, as improper initialization can lead to data loss. If you're unsure, skip this step).

    • Run CHKDSK: Open Command Prompt as administrator (search for "cmd" in the Start Menu, right-click, and select "Run as administrator").

Type chkdsk C: /f /r (replace C: with the drive letter of the affected drive) and press Enter. This will check the drive for errors and attempt to fix them. You may need to restart your computer for this to take effect.

System File Checker (SFC) Scan:In the same Command Prompt window, type sfc /scannow and press Enter. This will scan for and attempt to repair corrupted system files.

-Boot into Safe Mode:Press Shift while clicking Restart in the Start Menu.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

Press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.

Check if the drives are accessible in Safe Mode. If they are, a third-party driver or program might be causing the issue.

-Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall software to see if they are interfering.

-In-Place Upgrade Repair If other steps fail is a more drastic step, but it can often fix underlying system issues without losing your files. Download the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's website and run it. Choose to "Upgrade this PC now" and follow the prompts.

If you need further assistance or if any of these steps are unclear, please let me know.

None of those issues is my issue. My current windows 11 sees both my SSD drives. Load the update and can't access the drives or see them though device manager sees them C and D. Boots fine without an issue. But can't see or access the drives C or D. Roll back the update and everything is fine. There fine before the update and okay again when I uninstall that update - KB5055528
