Unable to Enable Windows Sandbox

I am unable to enable Windows Sandbox on a new Dell PC I just got. I have virtualization enabled in the BIOS and have enabled Hyper-V with no problem. However, when I enable Windows Sandbox, the set up appears to go fine (asks for a reboot and "Customizing features for you. You're xxx% there. Please keep your computer on." However, the computer freezes at some point at 100%. I have let it sit overnight to make sure it was hung. If I force the computer off and turn it on again, the same things happens over again, freezing at 100%. If I reboot to safe mode, it undoes the operations and I am back to normal, but still no Windows Sandbox. I have tried several clean installs from the system image with the same result. Please do the following. This would ensure you download a new Media from Microsoft. The Windows Reset, and System restore both of the media is likely local and old.

Please try a repair install as the next step. It keeps everything, including apps and files, and reinstalls Windows.

Repair Install Windows 11 using an ISO file

    https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2021/08/repair...

    1. Download Windows 11 ISO file from the following link:

    https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/Win...

    1. Under Download ISO file, select Windows 11.
    2. Click Download and choose the Language in which Windows is installed.
    3. Click 64-bit Download to start the download.
    4. When downloaded, open the ISO file, and run Setup.exe to start the upgrade.

I think so. I've used the both the Windows Reset option and the Dell System Restore option. Both had the same result. Not sure how to use a different image.

    Thanks, Josh.

It seems like an assembly is missing as per the logs.

    >> I have tried several clean installs from the system image with the same result.

Are you using the same Image to do a clean install?

Hello, thanks for the response. Following is a link to the CBS.log file I generated this morning when I tried again to enable Windows Sandbox:

    Hi Josh,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. I am happy to help you today.

To simplify things, please download and let the Optional feature fail once. It will leave a trace for the failure.

    Then, do the following:

Open your File Explorer and go to your system drive, which is commonly C drive.

    Navigate to Windows>Logs>CBS folder.

You may need to check the Hidden items option under the View tab in tool bar to show the Logs folder.

Right-click on the CBS.log file and select Copy.

    Paste it to your desktop.

Go to your OneDrive account and upload CBS.log from the Desktop.

Share the link of the CBS log and post it in the next reply.
