Fortnite Crashes Leading to Sudden PC Shutdown and Restart

I am experiencing an issue while playing Fortnite on my computer. The system suddenly shuts down and restarts without warning. This only happens with Fortnite and not with any other games or applications.

Sometimes the issue occurs right after launching the game, while other times it happens during gameplay. The screen goes black, and the computer restarts unexpectedly. This has happened multiple times.

My system specifications are as follows:

  • CPU: Intel i5 13400F
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 MSI
  • RAM: 2x MSI DDR5 8GB 5200 MT/s
  • Storage: WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD + Heatsink
  • Motherboard: MSI PRO B760-VC (MS-7D98)
  • Power Supply Unit (PSU): 650W 80 Plus Gold

Additionally, I’ve attached a dump file for reference: 010225-7468-01 - copia.dmp or 010325-6843-01.dmp

Please let me know if further details are needed or if there’s any specific troubleshooting step I should follow.

I found out what the problem was. You need Fortnite to be installed on the same hard drive as the Epic Game Launcher, as soon as I did that, the game stopped crashing. I don't know for sure if this was the problem, but it helped me.

I've attached the latest dump. This occurred after completely reinstalling Fortnite. I should also mention that even with a freshly installed Windows, this issue kept happening.

Thank you for that information, if your PC continues to crash after performing those steps, please upload any new minidump files you may have for analysis.

I attempted to resolve the issue by following these steps:

    1. Repairing Easy Anti-Cheat through its setup executable.
    2. Reinstalling Fortnite completely.
    3. Checking for conflicts with antivirus or firewall software.
    4. Ensuring all my hardware drivers, BIOS, and Windows updates are up-to-date.

Unfortunately, the issue persists. Additionally, I am unable to open Easy Anti-Cheat manually to perform further troubleshooting. It doesn’t provide any error messages; it simply won’t launch.

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Your minidump files indicate it is a virtual driver associated to the Easy anti-cheat software that is causing your system to crash.

Those anti-cheats are linked to the TPM on your motherboard, go to the support page for your PC or Motherboard on the manufacturers website, if you do not have your drive encrypted with Bitlocker, check for any BIOS update that may need to be installed

Then completely uninstall the anti-cheat software, restart your PC and download the latest available version of the Easy anti-cheat software.
